For some time there has come to me the desire to share with others who might be in need of healing, some of the blessings which have come into my life through the study and application of Christian Science. Prior to my learning of this Science, I had been under the care of many physicians; and I had had several operations, which only left me in a condition worse than before. Finally, after consultation with a well-known medical authority, it was decided another operation was necessary.

At this time Christian Science was presented to me by a friend in such a manner that I was instantaneously healed of a very distressing stomach ailment. I immediately purchased a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I can never forget my impressions as I read this book. It seemed to me that I was in a different universe; here were the health and peace which I had so longingly sought. I found myself saying, "Why, here is light; here is light at last." It was as though I had been peering through a veil, and with my first glimpse of the power and omnipresence of divine Love, as taught in Christian Science, the veil was lifted. On page 227 of Science and Health our Leader writes, "The illusion of material sense, not divine law, has bound you, entangled your free limbs, crippled your capacities, enfeebled your body, and defaced the tablet of your being." What a wonderful release this was! For days I was inspired with what I had read in this blessed book. Then, one morning, I realized that the condition necessitating an operation had completely disappeared. I was free!

All this occurred years ago. I have many proofs since then of the efficacy of Christian Science to heal all manner of disease and inharmony. I shall never case to be grateful, humbly grateful, for this truth which has come into my life. Thy only way for me to prove this is in striving to live according to the teachings of Christian Science.
