In March, 1930, I went to a dentist to have my teeth...

In March, 1930, I went to a dentist to have my teeth cleaned. Although he had often made remarks about my good teeth, this time he appeared surprised. I asked him what the trouble was. His answer was that I had a very bad case of pyorrhea and would lose all my teeth, as there was no cure for it.

I held to the thought that God made everything that is real, and that what He made was perfect. I went home and called a Christian Science practitioner for help. Two weeks later the dentist telephoned me asking me to come to his office for another examination. He showed great surprise and asked me what I had been doing, and said: "Your teeth are as good as ever; your gums are healed and in a healthy condition. Are you a Christian Scientist?" I told him I had been interested in Science since 1913, and had been healed of typhoid fever and sick headaches in a very short time through its study; also of sorrow. He said, "It is beyond me what those people can do."

I am very grateful for Christian Science. I think it is the most beautiful teaching in the world.
