On page 494 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"...
On page 494 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, we read, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." I am very grateful for an experience I had a few years ago which gave me the opportunity to prove the truth of this statement. The need at that particular time was for a position. Several erroneous arguments were presented—that I was in a large city entirely unfamiliar to me, and that I knew no one who might assist me in locating a position. However, I knew that God's idea continuously expresses activity, and that my right work would be shown to me.
After I had tried various ways to secure a position without result, the thought came, Why don't you advertise in The Christian Science Monitor? I mentioned this to my husband, who was not then interested in Christian Science. He was of the opinion that an advertisement in one of the city's daily newspapers would reach a larger number of business men. I said nothing further, as I knew I was being divinely guided; but the next morning I went to the office of the Monitor and inserted an advertisement, which resulted in my securing a position in very harmonious surroundings shortly afterwards.
This was indeed a beautiful lesson in obedience. This demonstration of supply was only the beginning of the good which came to me as a result of obeying the "still small voice" of Truth. This experience also resulted in my husband's becoming interested in Christian Science and being led to a better business connection. It gave us both an opportunity to spend some time in the East and to visit The Mother Church and the Benevolent Association Sanatorium in Boston, which was a desire I had expressed several years before when attending a Christian Science Sunday School in a middle western city.
