My heart is filled with sincere gratitude for Christian Science, and for my small understanding of God's laws and of the oneness of God and man. I did not come to Christian Science for healing, although I was much in need of help when I learned that a practitioner was living in our apartment building. I really was hungry for God and longed to feel close to Him, for it seemed to me that He was the truest friend I could find. I had had many sorrows, as well as physical ailments of all kinds.

The first two hours spent with this practitioner, listening to her explanations about God and His great love—that He is Love—will never be forgotten. The aliments I had at the time all vanished into nothingness, and since then I have had many healings, both physical and mental. While I am grateful for all healings of ills and sorrows, I am far more grateful for the spiritual uplifting and rebuilding of character.

I am sincerely thankful for membership in The Mother Church and the local branch church, and that I help in this work. I am grateful for the Lesson-Sermons and the periodicals; for the practitioners; and to Mary Baker Eddy, for her great love for mankind—her loyal efforts to bring this truth to us in such a way that we can all understand.
