I feel that I should express in some measure my gratitude...
I feel that I should express in some measure my gratitude to God for the gift of Christian Science. When I first took up its study I was earnestly searching and praying for the truth about God, for I was in great need of physical healing. I was considered an invalid from the result of an injury to my spine, and was in complete bondage to this trouble. I was extremely nervous and never free from a sense of pain in my back. Through the study and application of the truth about God and man and their true relationship as taught in Christian Science, I was healed.
At a later period I was healed of rheumatism, also of a condition of influenza, tonsillitis, and sore throat. Through further progress in Christian Science, the need of wearing glasses was overcome. There have been many other proofs of the efficacy of Christian Science to heal quickly and permanently the ills that "flesh is heir to," among them being the healing of a carbuncle, ulcerated teeth, and severe burns. Most of these maladies have been healed quickly.
I should like to relate one demonstration which came to me recently. While bathing in a near-by lake I backed off into very deep water. As I do not swim, I experienced the sensations of drowning. Ultimately assistance came to me. The most beautiful part of this experience was the calmness and the assurance of the omnipresence of divine Love which filled my consciousness, and the clear realization that the everlasting arms of Love were upholding and protecting me from all harm.
