Gratitude for blessings received has prompted this testimony. When I first became interested in Christian Science I was recovering from the effect of ulcers in each ear. The specialist attending my case said that I must have an operation. I did not consent to this, and after several sleepless nights I had relief, only to be left deaf in one ear and with my head full of noises. The doctor gave me no hope of ever regaining my hearing.

At this point my mother asked me to take her to a Christian Science practitioner's office, as she was having help for a sister. My curiosity was aroused by a remark made by the practitioner that our bodies are as nonintelligent as the chair in which I was sitting. I talked with him at length, and he agreed to help me. In three weeks I was entirely healed. That was fifteen years ago, and my healing has been permanent.

I have a family of five children and have seen many wonderful healings brought about among them by applying the truth as taught us in Science and Health. One child, when three years old, was healed instantaneously of whooping cough. Other healings experienced were of pneumonia, measles, colds, fever, and the effects of poison ivy.
