I suffered for three years from a disease which the doctors called tuberculosis of the bones. In 1926 the disease began in my left foot. I could not walk, and my general condition was very bad. I was obliged to undergo many surgical operations, but all were in vain. I grew constantly worse; then after two years the trouble spread to my right hand, and I became very anxious about my health. In 1929, after different treatments and many kinds of remedies had been tried, and nothing had seemed to help, the doctors told me it was necessary to amputate the leg. I consented to this operation, which was made in February of the above mentioned year; but two or three weeks later new wounds appeared. I was so discouraged that I gave up hope that I should ever be well.

Then, in my great distress, two ladies who knew of Christian Science came to see me and gave me the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I read the book through and began to understand that man, the likeness of God, can never be sick; and within two weeks I was completely healed, mentally and physically. The wounds disappeared as well as the depression. Since then I have never been ill.

With a heart filled with gratitude I give this testimony of my quick healing in the hope that it may encourage others to study Christian Science. I am thankful to God, to our Leader, and to all who helped me to understand Christian Science and to progress in it.
