It is nearly twenty-five years since I first heard of Christian Science
It is nearly twenty-five years since I first heard of Christian Science. My mother had been ill for many years and someone had told her of Christian Science. She decided to go to a practitioner, and I went with her. I shall never forget the uplifting experience it was to me when the practitioner explained to us what Christian Science is. It was so wonderful, and yet I felt that I must always have known about this truth, but had never realized it.
Since that time I have relied on Christian Science for help, and have had many remarkable healings. One healing for which I am especially grateful came to me when I was still young in Science. I had worn glasses since earliest childhood, and had had my eyes treated for many years both in this country and in Europe, but had always been told that I should never be able to be without my glasses, even for an hour at a time. I finally decided that if God could heal all things, He could heal my eyes; and so I asked for Christian Science treatment from a practitioner. After the first treatment I laid my glasses aside; and I have never used or seen them from that day to this. I had three treatments in all for my eyes.
We have had many healings in our home, and Christian Science is a constant help and support in raising my three children, who have the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School. They have been healed of many so-called children's diseases, including measles, mumps; whooping cough, infections, and abscessed ear. All these healings were accomplished through Christian Science, entirely without medical aid.
