An article in your issue of December 5 implied erroneously that Christian Science is far removed from Science.

Webster's New International Dictionary says in part that "science" is "accumulated and accepted knowledge which has been systematized and formulated with reference to the discovery of general truths or the operation of general laws; knowledge classified and made available in work, life, or the search for truth." In the light of this definition it can properly be said that Christ Jesus pointed the way to the Science of Christianity when he said to a group of his followers, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Mary Baker Eddy was inspired to look deeply into the life, character, and works of Christ Jesus. Through reason and revelation she discovered the divine law underlying the Master's healing method. After systematizing and proving her discovery, she made it available to humanity; so that today multitudes are applying their understanding of the truth to heal sin and sickness promptly and permanently. Thus it will be seen that Christian Scientists arre utilizing the Science of Christianity in a practical manner.
