The Lectures
Introductions to Lectures
Walla Walla, Washington (Washington State Penitentiary, auspices First Church).
Lecturer: Paul A. Harsch; introduced by Mark B. McCulloch, who said:—
A lecture on Christian Science is a valuable aid to a better understanding of the Bible. In the twenty-first chapter of Revelation is this promise: "He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son." This promise is meant for each and every one of us, for it does not speak of a select few but reads, "He that overcometh." Christian Science shows clearly what is to be overcome. It teaches that the belief of life, substance, and intelligence in matter is to be overcome by a realization that God, Spirit, is the only cause and creator. The inevitable conclusion is that His creation must be spiritual and perfect. As the false beliefs about God and man are overcome by the truth, we see the promises fulfilled in that we awake to the fact that God is our Father and we are His sons.
