The Lectures
Introductions to Lectures
Louisville, Kentucky (First Church).
Lecturer:John Randall Dunn; introduced by Thomas E. Hurley, who said:—
Down through the centuries has come that plaintive cry of suffering humanity, "Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there?" Christ Jesus presented a comforting and most convincing answer in his brief ministry, healing every kind of sin, sickness, and disease. His followers also presented the same comforting reply for about three hundred years after his ascension. To-day Christian Science is giving to those in physical, moral, or financial distress this same comforting and convincing answer, and is giving it in the same way—healing all manner of sin, sickness, and lack. That it is doing so effectively is amply attested by the personal testimonies which may be heard every Wednesday evening in the Christian Science churches throughout the world.
