Christian Science is not, as stated by the writer, "everywhere most strongly represented among the more well-to-do of the population." It is represented in all classes of society.

Christian Scientists use at their services the same Bible as other Christian churches. Their first Tenet is, "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 497; Church Manual, p. 15). Mary Baker Eddy's book, Science and Health, is thus not their Bible, but it is read in connection with the Bible for interpretation of it.

The writer has evidently not been present at a Christian Science service, and his representation of it, therefore, gives a wholly erroneous impression. At the Sunday services, but not at the Wednesday evening services, a collection is taken.
