"Freely ye have received, freely give," was Christ Jesus'...
"Freely ye have received, freely give," was Christ Jesus' command to his disciples. Having received much good from the printed testimonies of others, I feel that my turn to contribute has arrived.
We have had many healings in our family, some of them instantaneous—healings of croup, bladder trouble, deep cuts, blood poisoning, and impetigo. Apart from these beautiful healings, I have had many demonstrations of God's loving care and guidance, one of which stands out in my memory very clearly. I had spent many lonesome years on the farm and was getting discouraged, so after a talk with my husband we decided to put the place up for sale. Very soon we thought we had the right person to buy, but the sale did not go through. At first I felt very much disappointed, but after a few minutes I thought, Why not use Christian Science on this problem? So I began to reason thus: Am I doing right in wanting to sell? Then I realized that I was the only one in the family who wished for the change. I thought: I will leave this to God. If it is right for us to sell, He will find the right people and they will do well here. Soon after this I fell asleep and woke up feeling very much refreshed with these words ringing in my ears: "Occupy till I come." I was very grateful for this; for shortly afterward our supply from another source was cut off.
I am grateful, too, that there has come into my life a sense of security, a realization of God's presence. On several occasions, when the necessity arose, I have felt, as it were, a coat of armor slip over me and with it a peace which passes understanding. For all our literature; for our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy; and for the privilege of being accepted as a member of The Mother Church, I am truly thankful.—(Mrs.)Selina P. Bird, Broadview, Saskatchewan, Canada.
