Among the Churches

Current Notes

Walnut Grove, California (Society).—Dedication services have now been held by Christian Science Society, Walnut Grove, a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Massachusetts, at their edifice on Walnut and First Avenues, Clampett Tract. It was no ostentatious occasion, only the regular Sunday service together with a short history from organization down to dedication, which was read during the time allotted for notices. It is an invariable rule of this denomination that they do not dedicate their structures until free from incumbrance.

The building is of cream stucco. It is L-shaped, and has an auditorium which seats one hundred and fifty comfortably; also a Sunday school room which is used as a Reading Room where authorized Christian Science literature may be read, borrowed, or purchased. The grounds are beautifully planted with lawn and shrubs; and, being a corner lot, it gives ample parking space for those attending.—Delta News.

Butte, Montana (First Church).—The new Christian Science church building at Montana and Quartz Streets, recently completed, is now open for services. The superstructure of the building, of colonial style with imposing white columns, was started last April upon the basement structure which had served as the church Reading Room and auditorium for several years. The completed building is one of the finest church edifices in the state. The building is one of the most gratifying additions to the central portion of the city and is proof of the confidence and faith that members of the church have in the growth, stability, and permanence of Butte.—Montana Standard.
