As reported in your issue for June 22, an evangelist is credited with having said that Christian Scientists "do not believe in anything taught in the Bible;" that they "admit no personality in God," and that, in his opinion, they "hold to rank infidelity." As these allegations are out of accord with the facts, your readers will no doubt be interested in learning what Christian Science does really teach regarding these points.

In the first place, Christian Science is founded solely on the Scriptures, its first Tenet reading, "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 497; Manual, p. 15).

As to the personality of Deity, on page 116 of the Christian Science textbook (Science and Health) we find the following: "If the term personality, as applied to God, means infinite personality, then God is infinite Person,—in the sense of infinite personality, but not in the lower sense." Christian Science denies corporeality to God, but it does not deny His infinite personality: it upholds, demonstrates it.
