I feel it a duty and a privilege to express my gratitude to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer, Founder, and Leader of Christian Science, for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me.

It is nineteen years since my first attendance at a Christian Science Wednesday evening testimony meeting. I recognized that this Science taught the divine healing which I had always thought Jesus came to teach as part of his religion. I immediately purchased a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I was sure that I had found what I had always been seeking; and in the first perusal of this book this was proved to me, for I was healed of a diseased condition of the eyes for which I underwent an operation when a child, with no permanent help; also, in this first perusal I was healed of catarrh, stomach trouble, and chronic constipation. There have been many more healings as I have journeyed on; and I have found the study of the Manual of The Mother Church a great help, for by taking the steps it provides I have grown in understanding.

I am so grateful for having had class instruction; for the better understanding which I gained enabled me quickly to overcome all fear of bad effects from a dog bite when there was an epidemic of dumb rabies affecting the dogs in this city, and especially the one that bit me. For these blessings, and for membership in a branch church and The Mother Church, I am truly grateful.
