Before I took up the study of Christian Science I was very fearful and unsettled in thought about fundamentals. There was so much in the Bible that I could not understand, and though I had a deep desire to be of help to mankind, I was never sure of the way. Now all this is changed. It has not been easy, and many times it has seemed a lonely way; but that is changed too. I am very grateful to the loving friends and practitioners who have helped to guide my thinking to some apprehension of God as the only Father, as Spirit, Mind, Principle.

I have proved the power of Christian Science in the healing of severe stomach trouble, constipation, misplaced organs, constant backache, need of glasses, colds, burns, cuts, headaches, earache, accident, nervous breakdown and the many so-called after effects of that trouble, a badly sprained foot, and many phases of fear, sometimes with help from a loving practitioner, at other times by my own study and practice of the truth. For these proofs I am thankful, but I am most grateful for the gradual but sure change of disposition, for the overcoming of sensitiveness, quick temper, and worry. The more I study the more grateful I am for the channels Mrs. Eddy has provided to guide us, The Mother Church, the branch churches, the periodicals, Lesson-Sermons, Reading Rooms, and lectures.
