Mrs. Eddy , author of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," says on page 58, "Home is the dearest spot on earth, and it should be the centre, though not the boundary, of the affections." "Home" is a very beautiful word, giving one a sense of security, of safety, of restfulness, and, above all, of love. No wonder it appeals to every heart. When love is in the hearts of the inmates of a home, then they quite naturally radiate this love to all with whom they come in contact; so that home ceases to be "the boundary, of the affections."

Mrs. Eddy defines "heaven," on page 587 of Science and Health, as "harmony; the reign of Spirit; government by divine Principle; spirituality; bliss; the atmosphere of Soul." Christian Scientists know that their real home is heaven, "the atmosphere of Soul." It cannot therefore be touched by any outside influence. Pure thoughts alone people that wonderful home.

Paul says, "Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord." Does not this mean that, while we have a material sense of home, we are absent from Life, Truth, and Love? Later Paul writes, "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." As we forsake material sense we are proportionately present with Life, Truth, and Love. If our home is there, then we have indeed reached "the dearest spot on earth;" for since Love is infinite, its qualities penetrate to every corner of the universe, and there can be no place where Love is not present.
