I cannot think of what my life might be without Christian Science...
I cannot think of what my life might be without Christian Science, and the thought that comes to me most forcibly is, What would I have done when my mother passed on had it not been for what I had learned through Christian Science of the continuity of life and of man's indestructibility? I have never felt the slightest grief or unhappiness, nor any greater sense of separation than when she used to go to visit other members of my family. Surely if Christian Science had done no more for me than just that, I would be its everlasting debtor. But that is only one of numerous blessings.
Physical healing has never been my greatest need, although over a period of twenty-two years I have been healed of such ailments as have presented themselves. I am deeply grateful for all these healings, but more grateful to be learning that physical ailments are an indication that some mental correction is necessary, and that we have a perfect remedy in the teachings of Christian Science. I have been helped over all sorts of rough places, and am glad to have learned that the overcoming of a belief in a selfhood apart from God is the way out of all difficulties, and that no real satisfaction is to be found anywhere but in God.
Christian Science has given me the Bible with all its beautiful promises and lessons. I had never read it before becoming interested in Christian Science. Little by little I am realizing that joy which Jesus said "no man taketh from you." I am more and more grateful for Mrs. Eddy, her life and her work, and I should like to say how grateful I feel to all the loyal Christian Scientists who are standing in the front ranks. The periodicals are a constant inspiration; every activity in connection with our Cause is a blessing and an opportunity. My greatest desire is to help others as I have been helped.
