Over fourteen years ago, after being healed of a disease...

Over fourteen years ago, after being healed of a disease I had had since birth, I became an earnest student of Christian Science. Since that time it has met my every need, whether physical, mental, or financial. For these blessings I wish to express my gratitude; also for The Mother Church and its many activities, for the Lesson-Sermons, the periodicals, lectures, practitioners, for the privilege of going through class, and for the Association meetings; yea, for every avenue of good provided by our much loved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

The following healing stands out prominently just now, and I am especially grateful for it. One Wednesday evening recently, after eating a hearty dinner, I went to my room and dressed for church. I became very sick, but did not speak to anyone of it, and started to church not knowing whether or not I would be able to reach the street car, nearly three blocks away. As I stepped out of the door a friend drove by in her automobile and asked if I were going to town. I told her that I was going to church, and she said that she would take me. The kindness was gratefully accepted, and I remembered the promise, "Before they call, I will answer." I went into church and sat on the very back seat. Through the singing of the first two hymns I was not able to stand, but before the services were over I experienced a complete healing not only of the difficulty mentioned but also of another that had seemed to be very stubborn for over a year. The joy of being able to stand during the last hymn and to join in the singing was boundless. The healing has been permanent.

Only by being an alert, obedient child of God can I express my gratitude for Christian Science.
