Christian Science means everything to me
Christian Science means everything to me. About twelve years ago, when I was in such a nervous condition that I could neither eat nor sleep, Christian Science was recommended to me. I went to see a practitioner and was lovingly told that God is Love and that I could be healed. My healing was slow, but this comforting assurance sustained me at all times.
About five years ago our little boy was run over by an automobile, the wheel passing over his stomach. I was out at the time. He was unconscious and seemed badly injured. Physicians, sent by the neighbors and police department, said they could not determine the extent of the injury until the next twenty-four hours had gone by. Upon my return I called a Christian Science practitioner. When the physicians came the next day, they found evidence of internal injuries, but through the faithful work of the practitioner this condition was met, and at noon the boy rose from his bed and came racing through the house on his small tricycle. I was overwhelmed with a feeling of gratitude, for I knew that he was healed. All that I clung to throughout the experience was "the scientific statement of being," as given on page 468 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The boy had no medical aid whatsoever, with the exception of a hypodermic injection which was given before I returned. I immediately told the physicians their services were no longer required. At the same time my husband secured the release of the men who were held because of the accident.
Since then both of our children have been very ill with scarlet fever. With the aid of a practitioner, by reading and declaring the truth constantly to them, and by the realization of the allness of God and the nothingness of evil, the error was quickly met. Measles, chicken pox, whooping cough, colds, and coughs have also quickly healed.
