About thirteen years ago I had my first healing in Christian Science
About thirteen years ago I had my first healing in Christian Science. For over three years I had been under a physician's care. Finally my condition improved a little, and he said that I was as well as I could expect to be. While there was less pain, there was always the fear that the difficulty might come again. Shortly after this we went to Florida.
About six weeks before we started on the trip a friend lent me her copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I read this book for about two hours. I was alone at home, and with joy unspeakable I called aloud, "I have found a new world." I sent for a copy of Science and Health that same evening. After living in Florida for about two months I became very ill with what the physician at home had called "ulcers in the bladder." But man's extremity was God's opportunity. I telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner eighteen miles away, and she lovingly told me she would work for me she would work for me. For several days there seemed to be no change, but on the sixth day I was completely healed.
My gratitude for this healing has never ceased; and now I can rejoice at many more demonstrations, both in business affairs and over physical conditions. I am indeed most grateful. I also rejoice in having had the privilege of class instruction, which put me on a firmer rock in the understanding of Christian Science. I am grateful also for all our periodicals, especially for The Christian Science Monitor.—(Mrs.) Lucy C. Graham, Blue Point, Long Island, New York.
