Will you kindly allow me space in which to refer to a report of a sermon in your issue of the 22d inst., in which reference was made to Christian Science in the following words: "Then there was the very striking growth of new religious movements like Christian Science and spiritualism, which robbed organized Christianity of vast numbers of its adherents."

If left without comment that statement might well give your readers a wrong impression of Christian Science; it might convey an altogether erroneous suggestion that there is a connection between the teachings of Christian Science and those of spiritualism. In her book "Retrospection and Introspection" Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, states, "As I understand it, spiritualism is the antipode of Christian Science" (p. 29); and in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy devotes a chapter to disproving the possibility of there being such a connection.
