[Written for the Sentinel]

The Chamber on the Wall

Lovingly the chamber on the wall
Was builded for the holy man of God,
That he might rest and there refresh himself
For ministry that crowded every day.

Who now can tell what blissful calm and peace
Embraced the prophet's heart in that small room,
What understanding of the only law,
What spiritual light upon the Word,
That made him able at a later time
To raise from death the woman's only son?
