I am glad to have this opportunity to tell of some of the healings which have come to me through Christian Science. I had a very serious attack of influenza. I struggled hard to realize the allness of God's power, and that His purifying love is always present with His children to release them from all error; so I overcome the first attack. Then some relatives came to our home to spend a few days, and it was hard for me to keep my thought clear and to do my daily studying. In a few days a relapse occurred, and I seemed in a much worse condition than the first time.

I wanted to work the problem out myself, as I knew my heavenly Father would heal me as soon as I did not allow error to take the place of God's love. I worked hard climbing up the mountain, and then a wave of error would come and I would slip down into the valley again. This repeated itself until I was in a miserable condition.

Some thought my hip joint was out of place, and to mortal sense it seemed to be. My body was also drawn out of shape. My relatives wanted me to have a doctor, and they expressed their belief that I would not last long; but I never allowed such a thought to dwell with me. Then came word that a Christian Science lecture was to be delivered in a few days a hundred miles from where I live, and I felt that if I could hear it, I would be freed from bondage. I made a great effort to hear that lecture, although many obstacles came in the way to hinder my progress in getting there. The last thing that error had to offer to keep me at home was, "Your youngest son is going to leave home the same day to accept a position, and you should not leave before he goes." But I said, "I am going to hear the lecture." As soon as I had made this firm decision I began to improve, and by the time I took the train I could ride comfortably.
