Gratitude for the blessings I have experienced in Christian Science...

Gratitude for the blessings I have experienced in Christian Science prompts me to give this testimony. I first heard of Christian Science through neighbors in May, 1927. For years I had been suffering from an enlarged bone in my right hand, which made it very difficult for me to work. On returning home after my second Christian Science treatment, I told my relatives that God had not created disease of any kind; hence He had not created an enlarged bone. At the same time I made a motion with my hand which was somewhat painful, and when I looked at it the bone had disappeared—without massage or rubbing, which I had hiterto considered very important. After I knew that God is our physician and helper, I destroyed all the medicines I had by me.

We realized, too, God's omnipotence and presence in a remarkable manner in the summer of 1927. We had gone into the mountains and on one occasion had lost our way. The sky became darker, and now and again the heavens were illuminated with fiery flashes of lightning. Remembering the ninety-first psalm, we relied solely on God and His power. We soon saw the main road, and near it an inn. As soon as we had reached the entrance the storm broke. Words are inadequate to express our gratitude to God; for had we not experienced His help in a strange country? On descending the mountain in spite of the slippery paths, we glorified God with songs of praise and thanksgiving.

For all these and many other blessings we have experienced in Christian Science we express sincere gratitude to God. I am also deeply grateful to the loving practitioner, and thank my dear neighbors who pointed out the way to Christian Science.
