I hardly know where to begin in telling of the blessings...
I hardly know where to begin in telling of the blessings and happiness that have come to me through Christian Science. While I received help some years before that gave me the utmost confidence in the truth of its teachings, I did not learn its real value, or how to do the earnest work that solves our problems, until the last few years. I had to go through deep waters in order to learn how to use the truth that makes free. Due to an injury, I suffered for years, and was never without pain in my left leg. An operation had been performed on the ankle, and finally it seemed that one on the knee was inevitable; but it might have left me crippled for life. Along with other seemingly insurmountable sorrows this seemed to cast me into the very depths of despair. Just then a little girl in the neighborhood, on hearing of my physical ills, asked me why I did not try Christian Science. "A little child shall lead them" was once more verified in my case. Saying nothing to anyone, but with much doubt and discouragement, for I had never heard anything of Christian Science that impressed me favorably, I went to a practitioner. I shall never forget the joy and freedom experienced after the first treatment I received. Though not realizing it at the time, I was healed of sick headaches and bowel trouble from which I had suffered from infancy. The healing of the knee was slow but complete.
Many other physical ills, such as colds in severe forms and very serious difficulty with my teeth, stomach trouble, and nervous prostration, have all been overcome, also many financial difficulties. Once, to mortal sense, all that I possessed in a material way seemed on the verge of being swept away. I turned wholly to God for guidance, and an idea unfolded to me. However, when I submitted this to my banker and attorney both very kindly but very positively told me that it could not be carried out. I felt not the slightest discouragement; and much to their surprise the "impossible" took place, within a week, and all was well.
I am filled with gratitude beyond expression to all who have so lovingly helped me on this journey from sense to Soul. I am so grateful for what Christian Science is doing for the whole world, especially through the little children. My greatest desire is that I may help others as I have been helped.
