I attended my first lecture after I had been reading the Christian Science literature and the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, for about one year. I knew nothing whatever then about Christian Science practitioners. One of my children was sick with measles and had a very high fever, and I felt that if I could attend the lecture the child would be helped. I went and drank in every word, and on my way home tried to apply what the lecturer had said to the problem at home. When I went to the boy's bedside, he said, "Mother, I can feel God all around me." A beautiful healing took place. He was with us at the breakfast table the next morning, healed and almost spotless, the few remaining spots disappearing during the next twenty-four hours.
After we came to reside in New York city I was beautifully healed, while attending a noonday lecture, of all sense of confusion and bustle in the big city. I am profoundly grateful for this healing, which has meant much to me. A few weeks later I was healed of rupture while listening to another Christian Science lecture. Whereas I had been hardly able to walk a block without pain, I came out of the lecture free; and there has been no return of the difficulty. I had not realized what the trouble was until I heard a testimony given at a Wednesday evening meeting by a lady who said she had been healed of rupture caused by heavy nursing duties during the world war. I then realized it was rupture I had been healed of. I am grateful for the privilege of testifying to these healings through the Christian Science Sentinel, and wish to express my gratitude for all the activities of the Christian Science movement.
