I wish to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science...

I wish to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science and for our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who has given to us the "key" to the Scriptures in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and unfolded the divine Principle by which we may demonstrate the power of God here and now. Many years ago I was instantly healed by Christian Science of nervous exhaustion, after all other available means had been tried and had failed, and I was helpless and hopeless. I am most grateful to the loving friend who pointed out this truth to me, and to the dear practitioner who helped me to demonstrate God's love. Not all imperfections were then healed, but I am thankful that as I study our textbook, practice the truths revealed therein, and love more, they are being overcome.

Some years ago I attended a Christian Science lecture, and during the lecture I was healed of what had been termed a tubercular knee joint. From childhood it had given me much distress and embarrassment, as the heaviness and numbness seemed to make it necessary to move the limb about constantly, and at times it would suddenly refuse to carry the weight of my body. I sat in this lecture with a sense of giving annoyance to the person next me, and probably with a sense of self-condemnation, until I became interested in the lecturer's explanation of an "idea" and forgot all else. I left the lecture hall in great joy at what I had learned, with a sense of nearness to God and a realization that I was one of His ideas, but all unconscious of the miraculous healing that had come to me. Indeed, it seemed too wonderful to be true, and it was a few days before I could fully realize that this error was gone not to return; which I can now say is true. I learned too, through this experience, that healing is learning more of God and His creation, more of His love, more of the divine Principle of our being, for thus one gains a clearer appreciation of man's relationship to God.

I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, for class instruction, for having had the privilege of being a Reader in a branch church, for the loving practitioners, for our periodicals—for all the channels to be found in our Mother Church for the sending forth of the truth. And I should like to express gratitude for the rebukes and corrections which have come to me for wrong thinking. They have always been stepping-stones to a higher understanding of Truth.—(Miss) Sara Elizabeth Weir, Mt. Lebanon, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
