I am very grateful for all that Christian Science has done...
I am very grateful for all that Christian Science has done for me during the last ten years. I was considered a delicate child, and as I grew up suffered considerably from neuralgia, rheumatism in both chronic and acute forms, and other ailments. I suffered likewise from fatigue and depression. Since taking up the study of Christian Science I have become a strong and healthy woman, able to participate in and enjoy all the activities of a busy life.
The winter previous to my becoming interested in Christian Science I was ill for six weeks with a very heavy cold, and was filled with a sense of fear that a chronic condition of delicate health might ensue. In consequence, I took great care of myself, and used a medical remedy in the hope of warding off a recurrence of the trouble. Christian Science was then presented to me, and I immediately left off all material remedies and relied on the truth, which has been the only physician I have used since.
During the first two years after I became interested in Christian Science I had the great privilege of living in a household where this wonderful truth was practiced daily. I am most grateful for this experience, and it would be difficult to estimate the help I received in this way. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, says (p. 1), "Desire is prayer." I am very grateful for answers to the prayers of right desire; for a practical religion to enable me to help myself and others; for guidance in studying the Bible; and for helpful literature, all of which I have received through the many channels of blessings with which our Leader has so lovingly and wisely provided us.
