With a deep sense of gratitude I wish to testify to the wonderful healing my little daughter experienced in Christian Science. A few days after the child was born we noticed that her bowels were not functioning properly, and for this reason I was obliged to consult a doctor six weeks later. He prescribed various medicines, but all to no effect. A little later the child's body and hips were swollen, and were quite stiff; a swelling also formed in the intestines. In my fear I consulted another doctor, who proposed an immediate operation as the only means of saving the child. As she was not a year old I thought an operation on such a delicate little thing would be dangerous, and not being able to see any good that would result from it I could not decide to permit the operation. But "man's extremity is God's opportunity." About this time my mother called my attention to Christian Science. I went to a practitioner at once and asked for treatment, which was lovingly given. Although the healing was slow, I never lost courage, but gained thereby more confidence in God. My little daughter was completely healed, and to-day she is a healthy, strong, happy, and contented child. We have learned to understand the meaning of the words of the Bible, "I am the Lord that healeth thee."
I am very happy that I have found Christian Science and that I can apply it in daily life. For all the good I have already received I thank God with all my heart, and Mrs. Eddy, who showed us the way to divine Love and lasting harmony. I also think with sincere gratitude of the dear practitioner who, through her help, gave me an example of unselfish self-sacrifice.—(Mrs.)Clara Lindner, Alt-Chemnitz, Saxony, Germany.
