It is with a feeling of deepest gratitude that I express...
It is with a feeling of deepest gratitude that I express my joy for what Christian Science has done for me. My difficulty was what the physicians termed nervous prostration; and under their instruction and medical aid I seemed to grow more despondent. Then I was advised to go West. After spending five months in the mountains, I returned home in a very unhappy state of mind to be told that I could never again take up responsible work. This disturbed me greatly. However, I did take a position where the work seemed easy, but I felt incapable and was full of fear. One morning, after a sleepless night and much vexation, I arose and was ready to leave the house when the "still small voice" seemed to tell me that God is Love, and that He alone could heal me. I did not know the name of a Christian Science practitioner, but turned to the directory and found one living a few blocks up the street. She lovingly consented to let me call and talk with her. She talked with me a few minutes about the Bible, gave me a treatment, and then smilingly told me to go right on to my work. I did so, and before the close of the day realized that I had been lifted out of a great sense of distress; in fact, I was healed of a trouble that had been holding me for over two years.
Since that time I have been healed of hay fever of long standing, hereditary heart trouble, also of great disappointment and a keen sense of jealousy. I am indeed grateful for the realization of the truth which I learned through the study of the Bible, together with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. I am most grateful for all of our literature, and for the realization that it is my duty to help lift up the Christidea in the everyday walk of life here and now.
