Abundance

"Son , thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine." So, not only one but all of us are reassured of the Father's ever present care and bounteous provision. Nor does God limit His children in any way, but says, "All that I have is thine." Not a portion, but "all"! Since God, the only cause, creates the universe, and since man reflects Him, then, man, as His child, expresses the infinite resources of his Father-Mother God, who knows no lack or finiteness. God being infinite, is man, His reflection, in any way poor or limited?

On page 468 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, gives us a wonderful definition of substance, which revolutionizes thought by lifting it from a material to a spiritual basis, from the temporal to the eternal. She says: "Substance is that which is eternal and incapable of discord and decay. Truth, Life, and Love are substance;" and she adds, "Spirit, the synonym of Mind, Soul, or God, is the only real substance."

How the realization of this truth frees human consciousness from anxiety regarding supply! Since true substance is eternal, how can one fear that it may be lost or destroyed? It is self-evident that Truth, Life, and Love being infinite, unlimited, universal, there is abundance of substance for all of God's children. Then, need one fear that his substance can ever be limited or inadequate? Our Leader says (ibid., p. 13), "Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals." What need, then, for covetousness, greed, or envy? Love being impartial and universal, all are equally blessed, equally loved, equally provided for in God's kingdom. While it may seem in human experience that there is a very unequal distribution of wealth yet this is not the Father's will; nor does inequality exist in His creation. The realization of this truth will bring about a more just and impartial manifestation of supply.
