Christian Science came into my home nine years ago...

Christian Science came into my home nine years ago after materia medica had failed. My husband was told if he would try Christian Science he would find help there. After being held in bondage for ten years he found a wonderful help and a great deal of happiness. At that time our little boy had been wearing a cast for three years, the doctors claiming the trouble to be tuberculosis of the spine. I asked a doctor how long he would have to wear the cast and he said for many years. After my husband received a few treatments and I saw the good he was getting from Christian Science, I thought it would be wonderful if we could have the cast removed from the child. Christian Science at that time seemed very obscure to me, but the help my husband was receiving enabled me to have more faith in God and to overcome the fear that was keeping the cast on. My husband had the faith and removed the cast. In a very short time the child was out playing again. The boy was then five, and he is now fourteen years old.

I was very grateful for this beautiful healing but did not seem to understand how much Christian Science was doing for me until five years ago, when one dear to me passed on and my grief at times seemed more than I could bear. I found out then that God was the only Comforter for me. It was then that the great desire came to me to take up Christian Science, but I knew in order to do that I would have to give up all for Christ. At that time I had a great deal of fear to overcome, as this same child had a mastoid growth. Two operations had taken place without good results. Finally, I overcame my fear and put the child and myself in the hands of God for healing. I am grateful to say that he has been healed, and now attends a Christian Science Sunday School. With the help of a loving practitioner I was healed of grief, and also of kidney trouble and a sprained ankle.

My heart overflows with gratitude to God and to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. I wish also to express my gratitude to the dear practitioner who showed me the way.
