I am indeed grateful for all that Christian Science has...
I am indeed grateful for all that Christian Science has meant to me in the twelve years I have endeavored to follow its teachings. Early in my study I had the privilege of class instruction, and I am sure this went a long way toward putting me on the right path at the very commencement.
I did not come for healing, but my mother had become interested and I had attended a few church services in London, where I was then living, and, primarily to encourage my young sister to follow my example, I entered a Christian Science Sunday School along with her. The logic of its teachings so appealed to me that I became a regular pupil.
Prior to this I had suffered from very tender feet, and some time after commencing the study of Christian Science I one day realized that I had been healed of this condition without knowing it. I was at the time serving an apprenticeship with an engineering company, and was always suffering from cuts on my hands through minor accidents with sharp tools; and although these were small, they were bothersome and often painful. After taking up the study of Christian Science I realized that since the work I had chosen was legitimate, there was no reason why I should suffer in carrying it out. I also remembered that Jesus had been a carpenter, and this helped me to see that there was no need to fear these accidents at all; and from that time on I was practically immune from cuts and accidents.
