I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing,...
I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing, but because it appealed to me as being a true religion. I was invited by a friend to attend a Wednesday evening testimony meeting and after hearing what I did that evening I procured a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and began the study of Christian Science. God has been my physician ever since—over sixteen years. I had been suffering from catarrh of the head and had been having treatment from a specialist for some time. The specialist told me I could never be cured of this trouble, but that he could relieve me; for which I was grateful. But after finding out that Christian Science could heal I had treatment from a Christian Science practitioner and was healed, and the trouble has never returned. I had also suffered from dental trouble and had been told by a dentist that my teeth would be gone in a short while. I had occasion to visit the same dentist twelve years afterwards, and he was astonished to see the good condition of my teeth and gums.
I am grateful for all the physical healings I have had since becoming a student of this wonderful truth—they have been too numerous to mention; but I am most grateful for the light that Christian Science throws on the Bible and for the better understanding of God and His relation to His spiritual creation, also for the better understanding of man as spiritual and not material.
