I feel deep gratitude to God for giving us Christian Science, through Mrs. Eddy.
Several years ago I was weary and heavy-laden. Suddenly I became very ill, and my family was sure that I was about to pass on. At the pleadings of a friend the most eminent specialist in town was called, but he admitted he could do nothing for me, since he was unable to find the cause for the abnormal heart action. With the ever ready help of a faithful Christian Science practitioner, my life and health were restored. Since this healing I have not felt the need for glasses, which I had used for two years previously.
Family discord and opposition to Christian Science, which often seemed overwhelming, have also been overcome, together with many lesser evils. I have fully experienced the truth of Mrs. Eddy's beautiful words in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 266): "Would existence without personal friends be to you a blank? Then the time will come when you will be solitary, left without sympathy; but this seeming vacuum is already filled with divine Love." Sometimes the way seems dark and hard to understand, but I know that if we hold firmly to the truth that "in him we live, and move, and have our being," and follow the teachings of Christian Science, all shadows must lift.—(Mrs.) Anna Minna Schultz, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
