Truth's Infinitude
"What is truth?" All down through the ages this question has been sounding its way, and to it Christian Science alone affords a satisfying, adequate, and demonstrable answer. Truth's solution to every problem presenting itself to mankind may be found through a consecrated and continuing study of the Bible and the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Through these, God has revealed Himself and the truth of all existence.
It may be helpful to consider one or two phases of this vast subject as they have unfolded through the study of Christian Science, and the experiences growing therefrom. When we remember that Truth is one of the synonyms of God, it ceases to seem a cold abstraction and is seen to be a benign, living, governing presence and power.
On page 30 of "No and Yes" Mrs. Eddy has written, "It is Truth's knowledge of its own infinitude which forbids the genuine existence of even a claim to error." The contemplation of this great statement is most comforting and reassuring. It brings with it a realization of the fact that Truth, knowing its own infinitude, must know its own individual ideas and be known by them. As Truth knows each one of its ideas, so also Truth maintains each of its ideas in that perfection of being which alone is true. No single idea of Truth, however tiny, can for an instant be separated from Truth or unsustained by Truth. Through each one of its least ideas is Truth expressing its own qualities of intelligence, harmony, activity.
