Christian Science has completely transformed my life by...
Christian Science has completely transformed my life by changing my way of thinking. Through it I have learned to know God and to love Him. Formerly I was subject to all sorts of ills, and thought I could be normal only by taking a quantity of pills and strengthening remedies. Since I have known of Christian Science, and as my understanding has increased, these ills have disappeared one after the other. I have been healed in this way of constant sick headaches, stomach trouble, hernia, nervous attacks, and an internal trouble of over fifteen years' standing, for which a surgical operation seemed necessary. On one occasion a hemorrhage of the lungs was stopped while I was steadfastly maintaining that Life is God, and that it has nothing to do with flesh and blood. For years now I have been able to do work which seemed to human sense beyond my strength, and this without fatigue and with great joy. For years my children and I have not taken any medicine.
For all that Christian Science has done for us I am deeply grateful; but my gratitude is still greater for the mental transformation it has brought about. I have learned to love life, to be happy, and to be grateful to God for all that surrounds us, for the love which I always meet everywhere I go. I feel that God is always present; that He surrounds us with His love, that He is a very rich Father to us, and that near Him I shall always have an abundance. I know now that I can do nothing of myself, but that with God I can do all; and this assurance brings me joy and peace which nothing can take away. Each new experience is an opportunity to demonstrate what I know, and even in the most difficult times there is always within me a small voice which speaks of joy, of the joy of knowing that all is already solved in divine Mind, and that I have only to come into harmony with that Mind and to remain in the kingdom of the infinite God.
I am very grateful to have had the privilege of class instruction; through it I have learned what the Christ-mind is and have felt its presence. I have learned with what great love Mrs. Eddy has loved us, and her books have become my best friends. I am grateful for all the activities in Boston, and very sincerely thank The Christian Science Board of Directors for their constant work, The Christian Science Publishing Society, which sends its messages so regularly to us, and the lecturers for the good tidings which they bring. I am happy to be a member of The Mother Church, and my only desire is to continue to work for the advancement of Truth in the world and really to deserve the name "Christian Scientist."
