Present Availability of the Healing Principle

In the Preface to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. vii) Mrs. Eddy says, "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." In his epistle to the Corinthians Paul declares, "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." These assurances are wonderful incentives to urge us to use the understanding of Truth we now have. Our blessings and healings, and our sense of well-being come from our application of the laws of God to our everyday problems; and as we apply these laws to-day we find our supply of good is available to-day.

Mortal sense urges that we wait until we have harmonious material surroundings, more wealth, and a better position before we begin to avail ourselves of God. It argues that when we have these things we shall have more time to study His laws; thus we put off from day to day the acceptance of spiritual good, which is available for all to-day.

It is when we silence the material reasoning and planning and turn with absolute faith and trust to the infinite source of love and goodness that we experience salvation from the erroneous concept of ourselves and mistaken beliefs of so-called mortal mind. We find, then, instead of limitation and lack, an unlimited supply of happiness, joy, peace, goodness, and health. As we continue to reflect these Godlike qualities in our thinking, our material surroundings are made more harmonious and beautiful, and our needs are bountifully supplied.
