As it is a sacred duty to be a witness to God, I wish to take this opportunity to tell how, since Christian Science came into my life, I too have experienced and am experiencing again and again in a wonderful way the guidance and never failing help of divine Love.

The first time I went to a Christian Science practitioner I was near despair. Grief over the passing on of my dear mother, the incomprehensible problem of death, inharmonious surroundings, and a bad complaint of the leg which had hindered me even as a child—out of all this there was only one redeeming way, namely, the Science of a right understanding of God. Physicians told me that the only thing remaining for me to do was to go to a hospital for nine months, but that complete healing was very doubtful. The pain seemed to be so intense that I could hardly walk for five minutes at a time.

After I had visited the practitioner twice I felt, while walking home, that could walk quite naturally and without pain. I went as if I were on wings. But again and again came the thought: Is it really true? and will other people also believe it? I did not understand what had taken place, and when everyone at home began to ask how I was, the erroneous concept was stirred up again and looked upon as real to such an extent that the evil effect was again manifested.
