With a grateful heart I hereby testify to the blessings and healings which I have experienced through Christian Science. As our daughter had been a sufferer for a very long time, a friend told us about Christian Science. He asked a practitioner to visit us and give my daughter treatment. This was lovingly granted, and her condition improved with every visit. So we bought the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. It gave us a better understanding of the Bible, which, previous to this, although I often read it, I did not understand. For the Christ, Truth, which makes us free I am very grateful.

One of my first healings, a sprained foot, which was swollen and blue and very painful, was soon brought about through the little understanding of the truth I had gained. I was also healed of weariness and other complaints. For many years I suffered from constipation, for which I had taken a great many material remedies. A friend told me about a case like mine which had been healed in Christian Science; so I thought I too could be healed. I took no more material remedies, but did "stick to the truth of being in contradistinction to the error that life, substance, or intelligence can be in matter," as Mrs. Eddy says in the textbook (p. 418). With confidence in the truth that divine Mind governs, I persevered until the ninth day, when I had a movement of the bowels. Although I had eaten three meals a day as usual, I had not felt any discomfort; nor had I felt ill. Since then my condition has been normal: the error has been destroyed.

Over six years ago I felt severe pain in my left leg. I again declared the truth, as our revered Leader teaches us in the textbook, to the best of my understanding. The second day a small black point appeared, which my husband could take hold of with a pair of small tweezers. He drew out a long needle. How the needle got in, and how long it had been there, I do not know.
