I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude...
I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the many blessings that have come to me through Christian Science. I had been searching since childhood for a God I could understand and love; had gone to a number of different churches and asked questions of those I felt should know; but the sum of the answers was that I would have to wait until the next world to find out; which failed to satisfy me, as I wanted to know how to live in this one.
One to whom I shall always be grateful sent me a Christian Science Sentinel, but at that time it aroused such a storm of indignation in me that I threw it on the table, declaring I would not even open it—such was my antagonism to what I thought Science was. After a struggle struggle of about two hours I was prompted (by curiosity, I thought then) to open it. I turned the pages and found the testimony of one who had been healed of a case similar to mine. In it the writer said she was glad to know that God never sent anything but good to His children. I could never express what those words meant to me. I was instantly healed of what had held me in bondage for two years—supposed to have been due to the birth of our eldest girl. I had not had a well day since her birth, and was afraid of going insane, as I could not remember things and sometimes would get very much confused.
Christian Science means everything to me in our home, and in bringing up our two children. I am grateful that they are growing up with this teaching; grateful also for the periodicals, as I do not feel I could get along without them; more grateful to God each day for Mrs. Eddy's life of sacrifice, and for every activity and worker in His vineyard.—(Mrs.) Lena Albertha Webster, Litchfield, Maine.
