I wish to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science...

I wish to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me. I have had many proofs of God's care. When I found this great truth, I did not own a Bible. I thought Christian Science was a different form of healing from materia medica, but did not know it was a religion.

For many years I had suffered from a chronic bowel trouble, and taking medicine was almost a daily necessity. After I had my first Christian Science treatment and had read the book for two days it seemed necessary to resort to my usual remedy. Then the thought came to me, "In Christian Science we do not take medicine, but look to God for our healing." Then I recalled the words of Mrs. Eddy I had heard repeated: "Divine Love is our only physician, and never loses a case" (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 132). I was instantaneously healed, and have never since had a desire to take medicine.

During my first weeks of study I seemed to believe nearly all that I read, but I questioned whether dislocated bones could be set by the application of Christian Science. I had the opportunity of proving this a few weeks later. As I was transferring from one car to another a man rushed past me, knocking me down, and I fell into a hole in the sidewalk. For five days I did not know that my arm was dislocated at the shoulder, as I did not have physician, but had absent treatment in Christian Science. On the sixth day there was a sense of the arm dropping from the shoulder. I called at the practitioner's home for help, and while there my arm snapped into place, making a noise like the closing of a gate. I wish to add that during the entire time there was no pain and no swelling.
