For fourteen years previous to studying Christian Science I was a physical wreck. With stomach and nerve trouble, I never knew what it was to be free from pain; and for the last three years of that time I was a cripple with rheumatoid arthritis. For those three years I never went to bed without a drug to help me sleep. I was suffering from heart trouble and indigestion too. In this condition, in April, 1923,

Christian Science was offered to me by a friend, who said I did not need to have that pain. I took the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, saying I would read it. The first night I went to bed without the drug. After reading a little from the book I slept beautifully. I read the book through twice and then visited a practitioner four times in three weeks, and was completely healed of rheumatoid arthritis, indigestion, heart trouble, and nervous complaints. My back became straight again, and my ankle bones went into place.

For this healing and for the loving help of the practitioner I am indeed grateful. I felt I had now something to live for. She pointed out so wonderfully my relationship to God, divine Love. After studying Christian Science for ten months I took off glasses I had worn for over fourteen years, and have not seen them since. That was several years ago. I do the finest work and read the finest print without them, and much better than I ever did with them. The doctor told me six months after my healing that it was a miracle to him, as he knew of no one on earth who had power to heal me in the condition I was in when I stopped taking medicine; and he knew Christian Science had healed me. This was wonderful at first. Now I know it was supremely natural.
