It is over twelve years since I commenced to study Christian Science, and during that time I have had many wonderful experiences as a result of work done for me by consecrated practitioners, and also from work I have done for myself and my family.

After my first physical healing, which took place after two weeks' treatment, I expected every other problem to drop away as quickly and as completely, and I was very much chagrined when I found that it was necessary to spend many hours in studying "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, in connection with the Bible, before these other difficulties disappeared. The first healing had been irrefutable proof, however, that Christian Science does heal; and throughout these more than twelve years I have been studying the rules as given us by Mrs. Eddy and endeavoring to renew my mind, discarding old erroneous beliefs and replacing them with the true concepts of the perfect man. There is much renewing still to do, but the work has been started. Occasionally, when I hear someone talking who has an entirely false concept of Christian Science, and because of this misinformation thinks he is opposed to its teachings, or, again, when I hear someone discussing disease and sickness with a detailed account of symptoms, I feel that the renewing of my mind has really begun, because it is distressing to one who has started this renewing process to see how earnest many people are in discussing disease, its symptoms, and what they believe may happen. Students of Christian Science have proved often and conclusively that God is the great Physician, and that He invariably heals when His prescriptions are followed—the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, and the rules found on every page of Science and Health in Mrs. Eddy's divinely revealed interpretation of the Bible, rules which must be obeyed if we are to live happily.

Through the application of the rules of Christian Science practice, many problems which have been well likened to barnacles, have just dropped away, while others have not yet been disposed of. The means to pay pressing debts have been supplied, as a result of metaphysical work done for our household. In an epidemic of vaccination I was excused, in spite of the fact that an order was issued instructing our entire organization to submit to it—vaccination. The arms of divine Love were apparently so around about me at one time that, although I was knocked down by a run-away truck, which ran over me and before coming to a standstill turned a right angle corner still taking me with it, the only injury I received was a slight bruising of the knees. At one time I was present in an office where a substantial sum of money was stolen, but as a result of immediately declaring the truth, I was scarcely questioned, and this in the most courteous way. In another office persistent metaphysical work replaced a discordant, disagreeable atmosphere with most harmonious surroundings. This work has enabled me to correct mistakes which mortal mind said were irrevocable; and on one occasion, when it seemed as though a large sum of money had been lost for the company as a result of an error on my part, by constantly declaring the truth as I had been taught to do in Christian Science, the fact was brought to light that my action had not lost, but saved, money for the firm: my daily metaphysical work had protected me from error.
