After suffering for many years and trying many remedies, such as water cure, electrical massage treatments, and feeling no better, I decided that I would just have to wear out a miserable existence. As time went on, however, a friend advised me to call on a very good specialist, saying she knew he could heal me. Upon consultation he said I had a growth in my side which would have to be removed, and advised an immediate operation.

About this time a dear neighbor came in to see me. After I had explained my condition to her, she asked me if I had ever heard of Christian Science, and said she was sure I could be healed of the growth, and in fact of all my ailments, if I would take up Christian Science and study it. So sweet, simple, and convincing were her words that I could not hesitate or hesitate or so I told her I was ready to try it, as the use of medicine had given me no relief. This dear lady proved to be a Christian Science practitioner. She explained this truth to me and gave me one treatment; and what rejoicing there was the next day to find that the growth had disappeared overnight and I was healed!

The following day I bought a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, as I discovered I had to read and study to get an understanding of the truth that makes free. One of my ailments yielded very slowly, however, and many times I was compelled to call upon practitioners to help me. As this lasted for about ten years, I can testify to slow as well as quick healing.
