My heart is overflowing with gratitude for Christian Science,...

My heart is overflowing with gratitude for Christian Science, which teaches us the truth about God, as being our loving Father, omnipotent and omnipresent, who supplies every human need. Recently we had a beautiful demonstration, which showed us again our Father's loving care for us, His children. My husband lost his position in an unfair manner. At first we thought our understanding of this great truth was firm enough to work out the problem ourselves, knowing that in God's kingdom there is no lack, no trouble, worry, difficulties, injustice, but that all is harmony and abundance; and we thought that something better was awaiting us.

However, when after almost three months nothing appeared, we nearly lost our patience. I became quite discouraged and depressed. Though I did not believe that we were deprived of God's help and care, I did not seem to see and feel clearly enough His protecting and leading hand, and I asked the help of a loving practitioner. She explained clearly that we must rely wholly upon God for our supply, and not upon material means and circumstances. She convinced me that we would have whatever we needed, and that my husband would get a position, but not necessarily just when and where it pleased us. She strengthened my trust and confidence in God, our heavenly Father, as being our only source of supply, so that I faced the circumstances in a different light; and on talking it all over with my husband we both felt more hopeful and confident than before.

At the moment things were still the same, but our attitude towards them had changed. Whereas, before, we saw only our loss and lack, after my visit to the practitioner we realized and were grateful for all the good that was ours. Every detail of our problem has been worked out in a most wonderful way since we left it to God, knowing that He would show us our rightful place. After the change in our mentality, the material supply and change of our circumstances came also, and the way opened up on every side. My husband had more than one opportunity to get a job. I am glad to say that he is well satisfied with his new position, and is doing well. The experience showed me that if we only stop our own planning and outlining and let God, divine Principle, lead us, everything will turn out for the best for us. We are deeply grateful for this beautiful demonstration by which our problem has been worked out so wonderfully, and most of all for the spiritual growth this experience has brought to us.
