The study of Christian Science has given me so much happiness, and has so greatly improved my health, that I feel I must tell others of the benefit it has been to me, in the hope that my experience may help other sufferers to overcome illness and sorrow. From my childhood I was very delicate. My earliest recollections are of pain and illness. At last, seventeen years ago, when doctors could do no more for me, on the advice of a friend I decided to see a Christian Science practitioner.

My doctor in London had told me my lungs were in a very bad state and I must leave England every winter before cold weather commenced and not return till it was over. I had been accustomed to go to the south of France; but my doctor there told me the Riviera was not sufficiently warm for me, and that I must go to Egypt and not remain at Cairo, as the climate there was not dry enough, but go to Assuan for the whole winter.

Instead of following the advice of the doctor I went to see a Christian Science practitioner. I thought I had no faith in Christian Science healing, but I felt sure it could do me no harm. After my first visit to the practitioner I returned home full of hope. I immediately became much better in health and commenced the study of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. My healing was slow; for faith and understanding came to me gradually, as I learned more of the spiritual teachings of Christian Science.
