Christian Science came into my life after years of suffering and when all material help had failed. The very best physicians said that there was no help for me, that I would be an invalid all my life, and that as time went on I would continue to grow worse. At that time a friend told me about Christian Science and lent me "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I began to read this book in connection with the Bible; and with the help of a practitioner I was healed. This was over twenty-one years ago. Since then I have been tested many times, and it has been proved to me over and over again that God never fails those who trust Him.

About six years ago I was taken suddenly ill with appendicitis. A practitioner was called, but no relief came until the third night. I thought I was passing on, so I asked my husband to raise me up. I placed my hand on my side and looked at him to tell him I was going. As I did so, I felt the lump in my side disappear and I was relieved of the pain; but I was very weak and sick. In a few days I was helped into an automobile and taken for a drive, one that I shall never forget. There was a beautiful sunset, and I realized as never before God's reflection everywhere; and these words from Joshua, first chapter, ninth verse, came to my thought: "Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." I realized a great sense of peace and returned to my home perfectly well, taking up my housework as usual.

We all have our testing times, and in this experience I was tested to what I thought was the very extreme. Still I refused material remedies and clung to God, and I received, oh, such a wonderful blessing! I could never tell what this experience meant to me. The thought of it has helped me to overcome many difficulties since that time; and I realize that divine Love does meet every need, and that every test of our faith in God does make us stronger.
